Retention - 6 cycle

The 6 cycle Retention Report will give granular data metrics spanning 6 renewal cycles. 

This report is used to review retention performance on a micro level. Metrics included per each renewal cycle: 

  • Pending
  • Skip
  • Cancel
  • Dunning (actively reattempting)
  • Failed (cancelled due to a decline)
  • Success 

 

This report will show:

  • What happens to an initial subscription throughout the first 6 renewal cycles

 

Important things to note: 

  • The data is tied back to the date the subscription started
  • One customer could have 2 subscriptions with 2 different Subscribed Dates

 

Business use cases: 

  • What percent of subscribers are still active after 6 renewals
  • Where does the largest churn happen within the first 6 renewal cycles 
  • What type of churn is causing renewal problems - failed payments or active cancellations?

This report lives under the Retention Category of Analytics. 

Metric Definition Calculation
Subscriptions The total count of initial recurring Offers  
Available Rx The total number of renewals available for next cycle   
Pending Rx% The total number of renewals awaiting renewal charge.  Success Rx / Subscriptions
Pending Rx% The percent of initial subscriptions awaiting renewal charge. Pending Rx / Available Rx
Cancellation Rx The total number of active cancellations for this renewal cycle.   
Cancellation Rx% The percent of of active cancellations for this renewal cycle..  Cancellation Rx / Available Rx
Dunning Rx The total count of recurring offers that have a declined payment for this cycle, but not cancelled

Failed Rx The total count of recurring offers where all attempts have failed and are now cancelled.   
Failed Rx% Rx The percent of recurring offers where all attempts have failed and are now cancelled.  Failed Rx / Available Rx
Skip Rx The total number of recurring offers that skipped for this cycle   
Skip Rx% The percentage of recurring offers that skipped for this cycle.  Skipped Rx / Available Rx
Eligible Rx The total number of renewals that have already been eligible to bill.   Eligible R1 = (Cancel R1 + Failed R1 + Skip R1 + Success R1)
Success Rx The total number of recurring offers that have successfully billed for this cycle.   
Eligible Success Rx% The percentage of recurring offers that have successfully billed for this cycle, out of eligible renewals. This metric REMOVES the pending count.  Success Rx / Eligible Rx
Overall Success Rx% The percentage of recurring offers that have successfully billed for this cycle, out of all subscritptions renewals. This metric INCLUDES the pending count.  = Success Rx / Subscriptions
